Rhythms of Life: Rest & Renewal
"Come to me all you who are weary and I will give you rest."
What better time to discover or perhaps rediscover the rhythm of life as God intended from the beginning of Creation. Not being too literal in understanding what a day is--but after 6 days of creating, God rested. Our Jewish forebears understood that the sabbath law was based upon this.
In our 21st century life, we seem to equate work and busyness with our value, but we often end up depriving ourselves of the spiritual nurture and reflection we need in God's presence.
Even Jesus went away from the crowds to pray. This summer, we will explore this rhythm of life with the goal of learning to live a sabbath life all year long.
A Message from our Pastor
Dear Friend,
God has loved you since before you were born and continues to love you to this day and beyond. God came to live with us in Jesus who was born among us, taught us, healed us, fed us, died for us and rose to new life for us. The grace and mercy of God is without bounds.
We at Christ Crossman United Methodist Church (C2UMC) witness to the love of God through our worship, our service, our study and our fellowship. C2UMC is made up of people who seek to put the love of Jesus Christ into action. We welcome you to the family table where you will be nurtured and renewed for a life of purpose.
If you have questions, please contact us. May the peace of Christ be with you always.
Pastor Mochel Morris
Open Hearts, Open Minds, Open Doors
At C2UMC, we often explore the places where faith intersects with science. We are not afraid to ask difficult questions. We know that there is much that we do not know. And we are able to give praise to God in the midst of it all. Join us in the search.
