Laurine Onza leads Zumba classes at Christ Crossman on Mondays and Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m. and on Saturdays at 10 a.m. The class meets in the Fellowship Hall downstairs.
Zumba® fuses hypnotic latin rhythms and easy to follow moves to create a dynamic fitness program that will blow you away. The routines feature interval training sessions where fast and slow rhythms, and resistance training are combined to tone and sculpt. Zumba is a very dynamic and exciting class full of Latin and exotic music flavors. It targets areas such as glutes, legs, arms, abdominals, and the most important muscle in the body, the heart! It is a mixture of body sculpting movements and easy to follow dance steps, although you do not have to know how to dance to do Zumba.

77 Power Packs Made; Many Thanks to Zumba, CCUMC Families!

Last Sunday after worship, CCUMC children (grades 1-5) organized and led a “highly efficient assembly system” for making 77 Power Packs for fellow school children who attend nearby Fairfax County schools. In the process, our children have helped feed other children who depend on school meal programs for their weekday meals, and who need the Power Packs to tide them over the weekend until Monday morning’s school breakfast. Although Northern Virginia is considered one of the most affluent areas in the nation, we still face a poverty rate of 5 percent in our community, of which 30 percent are children.

Big thanks go out to our Zumba friends and neighbors for donating much of the supplies that went into the Power Packs and also the 15 children and the seven adults who assembled the packs. Together, they exemplify the wonderful practice of extravagant generosity!

If you would like to help, join us for another Power Packs assembly in May. For more information about the Power Packs Program (P3) visit the Food for Others website: http://www.foodforothers.org.
