Outreach

When we say “outreach,” we are referring to serving those who are not a part of our church family or those in need in our community. We believe that one of the best ways to encounter the living Christ is to serve the least, the last, and the lost.
We have many ministries that are a part of C2UMC (that is, began and/or are supported by C2UMC):
Falls Church Winter Emergency Homeless Shelter
Christ House
Grace Ministries
DC Central Kitchen

Please contact our office at 703-532-4026 if we can help you share the love of Christ outside the walls of this church.

Stop Hunger Now Meal Packaging Event-Saturday Oct. 24, 1-3 PM

Join the movement to end hunger in our lifetime.  Help us reach our goal to package 10,000 meals.  Stop Hunger Now’s meal packaging events are a fun, family-friendly (all adults & children 4+), and hands-on way to make a difference and impact the lives of those suffering from hunger.

To volunteer at the event or to make a donation to the Christ Crossman event, visit the event page.

Faith Day with the Nationals!

Join us in celebrating faith and Nationals Baseball with Faith & Family Day at Nationals Park on Saturday, September 19th as the Washington Nationals take on the Miami Marlins!nationals_park_275x135

Everyone is invited.  This is the “official” Young Adult, Young Family, AND Youth Group activity, plus it’s a great opportunity for all of Christ Crossman to gather outside of church, and bring a friend!

The game begins at 4:05, and after the game there will be a special presentation of Nationals players testimonies and a concert featuring local area choirs.

Tickets are $12 ($5 from every ticket sold will help benefit The House DC, which aims to transform and empower the lives of inner city youth and their families through Jesus, by giving them hope, a productive future, and a changed community; the House DC seeks to meet the physical & spiritual needs of youth in Anacostia and beyond).

To claim your ticket in the CCUMC block, email the office .

See you at the ballpark!

Giving Tuesday, December 2

Make a difference! On December 2, Giving Tuesday (after Black Friday, Cyber Monday), we can join together and make a difference for the world. Last year, we, along with many others, gave $6.5 million to projects all over the world. This year, United Methodist Global Ministries has matching funds for the first $1,000,000 given*. Any gift of any size is important.

Here are a few options we suggest:

Combating Hunger by Rebuilding Rural Haitian Families

Support ICT4D (Information & Communications Technology for Development)

Imagine No Malaria

For more projects, see UMCOR.

*Global Ministries will allocate the matching funds dollar for dollar up to the first $1 million in gifts to Advance projects received online on Dec. 2 between 12 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. EST. A maximum of $2,500 per individual gift to a project will be dispersed as matching funds. A project may receive a maximum of $25,000 in matching funds. – See more at: http://www.umcmission.org/giving-tuesday/Giving-Tuesday-Resources#sthash.pcr4Fhpm.dpuf

Share the love of Jesus, through the power of a simple gift, with children around the world.   KIDZone will assemble shoe boxes of your gift donations together on November 23 and will be able to track where the gifts are sent.

Please drop-off gift donations before the 23 so that gifts are received by Christmas.   Gifts will be organized by boy, girl & by age (2-4, 5-9, 10-14). Gift suggestions: school supplies, hygiene items, toy cars, stuffed animals, jump rope.  More gift suggestions.

We would also appreciate any empty shoe boxes.
